Foundation for Health Care Quality
The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). An independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to assessing and reporting on the quality of managed care plans, including health maintenance organizations (HMOs).

Medical Expenditures Panel Survey (MEPS), third (and most recent) in a series of national probability surveys conducted by AHRQ on the financing and utilization of medical care in the United States.
Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services—formerly Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA), National health expenditure data, 1960-94. Tables and charts, downloadable in PDF format.
Bureau of Labor Statistics, Data on the economy--employment, CPI, wages, productivity, etc.

Agency for Health Research and Quality. Information on AHRQ research and publications as well as statistical data on health care cost and use.
